How to Identify the Material Quality of Stainless Steel Mesh?
As a Steel Screen Supplier, share it with you. There are three main methods to identify stainless steel wire mesh materials: one is nickel content, the other is chemical testing methods, and the third is to consider price.
One method is to determine the quality of stainless steel wire mesh based on the nickel content.
The price of stainless steel wire mesh depends on the material, wire mesh, unit weight and other factors. Taking 80 mesh stainless steel screen as an example, the cost of high-quality stainless steel wire mesh is about 6-7 US dollars per square meter, the average quality is 3-4 US dollars, and the inferior quality is about 2.50 US dollars. Such a huge price difference is caused by different stainless steel wire materials. Ordinary stainless steel wire is divided into stainless steel with nickel, two kinds of nickel, 4 nickel, 304304L, 316316L and other material types.
Stainless Steel Mesh
Different grades of stainless steel wire mesh have different nickel content. The 201 model in the 200 series stainless steel wire mesh has manganese and low nickel content. Its price is relatively low. This stainless steel is relatively easy to rust.
The 304 type 300 series stainless steel wire mesh has only two elements: chromium and nickel. Nickel usually accounts for 8%, which ensures the stability of this stainless steel mesh.
Because nickel is widely used in industrial elements and is expensive, different contents will increase the price difference. No nickel stainless steel material and two nickel stainless steel meshes are two types of materials with low nickel content and easy to rust. Only under strong acid conditions can stainless steel wire mesh made of 4 nickel ss or 304 stainless steel rust.
Use chemical methods to identify stainless steel materials. The identification method using copper sulfate is more convenient and the effect is obvious. Put a drop of water on the stainless steel net and wipe it with copper sulfate. If there is no discoloration, the material is usually stainless steel. If it turns purple and is also non-magnetic, it is usually high manganese steel. The basic difference is only two magnetic stainless steel. Because chrome stainless steel can be attracted by magnets in any state. The annealed chromium-nickel stainless steel is usually non-magnetic after cold working, and some will be magnetic. However, high manganese steel is non-magnetic high manganese steel. The magnetic nitrogen situation of chromium-nickel stainless steel is more complicated: some non-magnetic, some magnetic, some non-magnetic and horizontally vertical plane magnetic surfaces.
Magnets can be used to identify chromium stainless steel and chromium nickel stainless steel, but it cannot correctly distinguish the special properties of certain steels, nor can it correctly distinguish specific steels.
