What is the low carbon steel wire commonly used in fencing products?

Low carbon steel wire is also known as iron wire, low carbon steel wire is a kind of metal wire made of low carbon steel, iron wire according to the different uses, the composition is different, it contains the composition of: iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, carbon, zinc, and other elements.

Mild steel wire is one of the most produced varieties of steel wire, with diameters ranging from 0.16 to 10mm. It can be divided by surface condition into two types: bright and galvanised, and by delivery condition into cold drawn and annealed. The tensile strength of cold drawn steel wire is 26%le;635~1000MPa for general use; 26%le;540~1320MPa for nail making. the larger the wire diameter, the smaller the tensile strength. The tensile strength of cold drawn steel wire for construction should not be less than 635MPa. annealed steel wire has a tensile strength between 295~500MPa. Most of the fence mesh surface we use in life is made of low carbon steel wire, such as: bilateral wire fence, frame fence, railway protection fence, mesh pit fence, bridge anti-throwing fence and road isolation network. Sometimes different raw materials are used depending on the situation.

When choosing raw materials, from the consideration of maintaining the softness of the wire, in order to prevent high tensile strength, small diameter of the wire should be low carbon content; but the specifications of the larger nail with the wire, it is necessary to use a higher carbon content of raw materials, so as to avoid bending the wire in the punching head. Generally, in the production of non-nail wire with a glossy surface, the coils can be mechanically descaled and drawn without coating. In the production of nails or galvanised steel wire, due to its high surface quality requirements, usually after the mechanical descaling of the coil to be slightly after pickling and through the yellowing and lime coating treatment, in order to draw. Due to the plasticity of low carbon steel wire, deformation resistance is small, so the total surface reduction rate of a drawing process can achieve a large, maximum of about 95%. The surface reduction rate per pass is generally 26%le;35%. General purpose mild steel wire is heat treated before galvanising or intermediate heat treatment between drawing processes, commonly recrystallised annealing and widely used in both continuous furnace annealing and shaft furnace annealing. Continuous furnace annealing and continuous hot-dip galvanising or electro-galvanising form a continuous line of operation; well furnace annealing is used in non-continuous lines of operation.

The Q235 low carbon steel cold drawn wire is often referred to as ordinary carbon structural steel, which has a tensile strength of about 235MPa, the size of the strength is directly affected by the diameter of the wire, as the wire diameter rises tensile strength will also rise accordingly. High quality low carbon steel wire is manufactured from carbon structural steel and is delivered in hard or soft condition. Hard state steel wire tensile strength in 540 ~ 980MPa; soft state steel wire tensile strength in 440 ~ 785MPa, the specific requirements of the decision on the steel and wire diameter. The cross-section of the wire is round, square and hexagonal. The surface condition of the wire is divided into two types: cold drawn and silver bright. Silver bright steel wire should have a higher dimensional accuracy and surface quality, smooth and lustrous surface, no harmful surface defects on the use. The diameter of the steel wire delivered in tray condition is generally below 1mm or 1mrr-.
